Program Description:

Paris-Bordeaux

Where did the idea that France makes great wine come from? How did one product come to symbolize an entire national heritage and culture? How did the government then develop a branding system that would launch a global industry while shaping the palate and taste buds of the world? The course will guide students through the history of the French wine industry, explore the wine making process, and study the rise of French viticulture past and present, to see what it took for one country to become the premier wine maker and exporter of the world.
