Melbourne South Bank

Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne is a city like no other.  Situated on the shores of Port Phillip Bay, at the mouth of the Yarra River, the city of Melbourne, known as the "Garden City," has some of the most beautiful parks in the world.  The capital of the state of Victoria and a thriving city of multicultural people, Melbourne is also Australia's pre-eminent center for arts, education, culture, entertainment, culinary excellence, sporting spectaculars, shopping and business.

Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology

Founded in 1887, RMIT consists of six campuses and enrolls more than 57,000 undergraduate students. Study abroad students will study at the city campus in the heart of Melbourne's business district. Participants take classes with local RMIT students and enjoy the same educational benefits, clubs, organizations and services.

Academics

Courses are taught with a combination of lecture and tutorials and focus on group work and case studies. Students take four (4-credit) classes while studying abroad at RMIT. 

Semesters are on the Australian calendar:
Fall Semester - Mid July to Early November
Spring Semester- Early February to Late June

Accommodations and Meals

Students arrange their own housing for this program, and Melbourne has many options. The RMIT website has many housing options listed near City Campus. 

Students also have the option to find their own, independent housing in Melbourne.
