Program Description:


Connect-123 develops and administers international internship and volunteer abroad programs in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Dublin, Shanghai, and Sydney. In all countries, internship and volunteer work opportunities are hosted by local companies, nonprofit organizations, schools, research institutes, hospitals, and health care clinics.

Our experienced, international team advises program participants prior to departure and provides ongoing support and guidance upon arrival in each international city. This includes academic advice and mentoring to hands-on help in case of an emergency.

Internship Placement

Bentley works together with Connect-123 Internship and Volunteer Programs to ensure that students are placed in internships that relate to their courses of study to maximize quality and academic relevance of the placement. The eight-week program consists of an on-site orientation of the host city and the internship experience, followed by an internship placement at a company or organization in the student's field of interest.

Satisfactory completion of the internship placement is required in order for students to earn credit for the program. In parallel with the internship position, students are able to enroll in an online course at Connect-123's partner university that will grant them 3 course away credits.


Housing varies by by program, from residential apartments, to homestays. Students typically have the option of receiving assistance from Connect- 123 to secure housing or finding accommodations on their own. 

Application Requirements

In order to apply to one of Connect-123's internship programs, students should be of junior or senior level class standing, have a 3.0 GPA and approval of their departmental internship coordinator prior to acceptance of the internship. For Buenos Aires, Barcelona and Shanghai, while Connect-123 does not require any knowledge of Spanish, Catalan or Chinese, the more proficient you are, the wider range of opportunities they will be able to find.
